I’m immensely proud to report that Savvy Londoner has been nominated for a “Best New Money Blog” award, as part of the 2019 UK Money Bloggers awards ceremony. Winners will be announced at the annual conference in September.
I started Savvy Londoner near the end of 2018, two+ years after moving to London. When writing posts, I try to find the balance between London newbies who need guidance on the basic stuff in this amazing city, and those who have lived here for a long time, but can still use tips on how to save money (and there are so many ways!).
Because I spend so much time on each individual post (that’s what happens when you insist on writing 2000+ words every time), there might not be as many posts as I had hoped yet – but I hope the ones that ARE here, are helpful and serve a real purpose. The fact that Savvy Londoner already gets a steady stream of traffic every day, means I’m doing something right.
And now, being nominated alongside such an impressive list of new blogs, is a real honour.
UK Money Bloggers is a community of independent bloggers and journalists who write about personal finance, money saving and everything in between. Each year, the group holds a conference and an awards ceremony (“The SHOMOs” – Show Me the Money awards), where the best money bloggers in a variety of categories are announced.
Judges from within the community shortlist six blogs in each category, and then a new panel of judges, made up of financial journalists, sponsors and fellow bloggers, pick the winners.
